Town or Country Clearance were commissioned by the family to
conduct a house clearance from a ground floor flat in Gardeners
Close, Copmanthorpe, York. The property was rented from a housing
association and had to meet their standards when handed back.

The major issue was the distance from the front door to the roadside -
40 yards. This meant 80 yards had to be covered for each armful of
items.

The client had a lot of possessions in this one bed flat and we also
removed the carpets and curtains.
We sort the items into various categories - items for charities, items
for auction, items for recycling (wood, glass, metal, fabrics,etc) and
items for landfill.  

The total load filled a Luton box van - it can legally only carry 1 and a
1/2 tonnes and took a working day for a 2 operative team to load,
travel to the waste transfer station and unload into the relevant
receptacles.

The truthful answer is maybe or maybe not

In any form of clearance we incur costs. These are labour, transport and we pay tipping fees.
We need to recoup these costs and make a profit.

In the majority of cases the second hand value of items reduces our fees.

a) the value exceeds the costs so we pay the client
b) the value equals the costs so we remove everything for free
c) the value is lower than costs but reduces the fee in an agreed way.

Of course there may be no second hand value so no fee reduction and our full fee is payable.

So the answer to the question is it depends on the size of property, its position, and many other factors
AND the quantity and value of the items inside.
Without an assessment we can't determine the value of items so any telephone quote is meaningless.
